Hello, Beautiful Friends,
What a week we’re having here in the U.S. of A! Politics isn’t our jam at Beauty Hunter, but neither is putting our heads in the sand or compartmentalizing.
If your nervous system is feeling a wee bit overloaded 🙋🏻♀️—and even if not—I’ve put together a three-pack of earthly delights, tidbits to exalt the senses. Here we go.
Beauty Bursts Just for You
Breathless, by Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds 🎵 🎵 🎵
Steve played this Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds in the car a few days ago, and I’ve had it on replay ever since. A departure from his typically dense emotional intensity, this three-minute jaunty, toe-tapper is giddy, silly, romp-y, honey-esque love song. The guitar strums will massage all types of nervous systems and refresh the mind and spirit.
SPRINT on Netflix - six episodes 🏃🏾♀️💨💨 🏃🏿♂️💨💨
Have you ever wondered how, exactly, 100 meter sprinters train for their 10-second event, and get themselves so beautifully strong, fast and buff?
SPRINT is a fascinating lens into the lives, culture, pitfalls and achievements of the world’s faster sprinters. There are six episodes, and the season culminates in the 2023 world championships in Budapest. Perfect prep for the upcoming Olympics, but not to be shortchanged for its exploration into human behavior, cultures, and fashion. OMG the FASHION in this 100m event!

LOCAL COMMUNITY THEATER
Local Community Anything!
Steve, my mom, and I spread a blanket and unfolded three very uncomfortable picnic chairs, to watch “Two Gentlemen of Verona” at our local park. Every summer, Seattle Shakespeare puts on free Shakespeare in the park all over greater Seattle, because they believe Shakespeare should be available to everyone, and be free. They also believe art should be free, and artists paid.
These events are priceless, and yet each year I mean to go, and don’t.
Being around other humans, sharing something you all love, is the dreamiest peaches-and-cream pavlova for the soul, and reminds you that humans are talented, funny, creative, appreciative, and decent.
We all benefit from this reminder, don’t you think?
P.S. How I finally made it there: I asked my mom if she wanted to go Thursday. She said yes (she always does). So I had to go. This is a trick I use to get myself to show up to things I might otherwise bail on. I call it the buddy system.
Before showtime, we walked to the beach.
Yes, anxiety on overload these days. This is a lovely reminder of the beauty that sits right outside my door - a needed attention shift today!
Love these three thinks! Thx Tatyana!!
