Kiss Me: Let's Get Skin Deep

Seduced by an object of beauty

This week I’m fixated, indirectly, on my facial features. I recently bought a cosmetic product—not because I’m trying to make myself look prettier, but because I’ve been lusting after the gorgeous makeup-applying object for months.

I don’t wear much makeup: occasional mascara, and lip gloss which I almost never refresh after the first application. In the last three years, I’ve worn this makeup at most five times.

Three days in, and I can’t get enough of this product. I apply it daily, but I really take joy in its beautiful little container, which accompanies me from room to room just so I can admire its visual delight, the blues, corals, whites and gold. I’m smitten to the max, and freshly kissable.

If Beauty is experienced as Suprise, as one Beauty Hunter does, then this recent purchase fits the bill because I’m surprised at how happy it’s making me. And bonus: I’m getting a kick out of watching my husband laugh at me.

“Don’t forget to bring it to bed,” he says. So I do, placing it on my bedside table so I can glimpse it from my side sleeping position.

What on earth is this object of superficial beauty? See video.

The makeup in question.
