Dear Beautiful Friends.
When Kathy McAllister joined the Beauty at Work salon last winter, I thought: uh-oh, this is going to be rough. All I knew at the time was that Kathy worked with kids in Haiti (country rife with natural disasters, political instability), and my wee mind kept repeating: shit, that’s got to be hard.
As it turned out, Kathy, who is also an artist, schooled our group of salon-ers. She showed us what it looks like to create inspiration at work, to play the long game of loving your work, and to experience beauty e v e r y w h e r e.
On beauty:
Life is just beautiful—all of it. In its tragedy, in all the sorrow and grief the world is going through for so many reasons, there’s still hope, still beauty, still moments of friendship and compassion and empathy that can be had. . . . there’s the humanness to want to go on, come together and make the world a better place.
On beauty at work:
Beauty at work could be that you have a purpose no matter what it is … no matter what your work is, it’s serving a purpose: whether to pay the bills, get out of the house—whatever the purpose may be. So looking at the beauty and finding peace at how you’re spending your time, those are all pieces that lead up to beauty at work.
Treat yourself to 10 minutes of beautiful enlightenment with Kathy, a gift to the world.

The next Salon for Beauty Hunters starts Oct 14.
Humor, Play & Fun
Fridays from 12 - 1 pm PT, from October 14 - Dec 9 on Zoom
Do we dare laugh and josh at a time like this? Yes. Let’s. Absolutely.
This fall we’ll take our virtual walking sticks and explore the frontier of Humor, Play & Fun. What if Humor, Play & Fun (like Beauty) are unconditional essentials, qualities, and experiences that are there for us 24/7 no matter what’s going on? What if we spent some time getting to know Humor, Play, and Fun more intimately; what do these Treasures of Life mean to each of us individually, and how do we express and access HP&F uniquely and universally?
