Beauty Hunters,
The grandkids Riley and Caden spent the night and in the morning—MORE SNOW! We did what we always do, start the day taking a walk in our PJs, with flashlights and headlamps. Upon return, it’s hot chocolate for everyone.
After breakfast and all dressed for school, I tried to get Riley, 4, to tell us what she was wearing, Red Carpet style. She was more interested in catching snowflakes on her tongue than talking fashion. Well, harumph. It was her brother Caden, 6, who summed up the Question of the Day, Why don’t adults continue to dress up in fun outfits when they grow up and go to work?— with the kind of pointed widsom that belongs specifically to children.
Me: Riley, will you wear your fun unicorn dress to work when you grow up?
Caden: No, it won’t fit!
Try this on for size: As you ride your wee car of life into 2023, what doesn’t fit anymore? What are people, places and things that you are trying to squeeze in to that continually feel too tight or just not right? What if you dropped them? Start there. For example it could be: My ongoing claim to Start Yoga is feeling really tight around my middle. Outta there! My constant dissatisfaction with What I’m Doing With My Life is definitely giving me a wedgie. OUTTA HERE! And keep going … share your list with a fun friend. See what it feels like to say it out loud to another person. XO
